The brand new Ochain R, takes the learnings from the standard device and makes adjustment faster and easier.

Whereas the standard Ochain device requires the user to remove it from the cranks, before removing the faceplate and swapping the elastomers to make float changes, the new Ochain R can be adjusted from 12,degrees down to 9, 6, 4 and even fixed with the use of a single Allen key.

What does Ochain do for you?

Ochain is an active spider, allowing the chainring to rotate backwards in order to disengage the transmission from the suspension, improving the whole riding experience and the bike’s performance. Ochain engineers defined four setup possibilities, resulting in different degrees of proportional rotation. The defined options are: 4° / 6° / 9°/ 12° . Each one stands for a different degree of freedom your transmission.

Ochain is engineered for being used by those appreciating a more stable adjustment. Changing to different degrees is easy and possible but still a kind of a major setup such as the head angle or the choice of rear wheel diameter.

Ochain•R makes it easy to switch from one setup to another in seconds, using a 2,5 hex key. Imagine doing four DH laps and promptly testing all four degrees options to choose the best one for that track. Or finding the perfect setup on every single Enduro PS with a sole key

An hex key is all you need to disengage the system by rotating backwords the black regulation nut. Same key, now on the central allen seat, and you access all possible setups. Lasered lines are there as a reference for you. Lock back the system and you are ready to ride.

From the inside, this is made possible by a moving rack that modifies the ”starting point”. A conical coupling and a spring system ensures precision during adjustment. Developing the Ochain•R gave us a special opportunity to revise and optimize tolerances on the entire Ochain product range.

The new v4 Ochain benefits from revised internals, meaning significantly extended service intervals. This is achieved by removing the metal-on-metal rotation and installing with nylon float washers and removing the need for 95% of the grease used previously. Now, only the newly revised labrinth seals require a little dab of grease.

The v4 is also much easier to rebuild, with more laser etching and CNC 'engraving' to direct the user as to what parts go where. A 4th return spring also improves Ochains' action.

Chainless riding means flowing sensations, absent pedal kickback, extremely good braking performance and removes negative effects of pedal weight on suspension making you ride faster and smoother.
